What is Didgeridoo Harmonic Therapy

Harmonic therapy is a form of sound therapy. The term harmonic is used to draw attention to the broad range of harmonic frequencies that the didgeridoo reaches. The didgeridoo helps to achieve healing results through ultra sound and the principles of entrainment by producing tones that range from the ultra low inaudible of 0hertz to the ultra high inaudible of 1000hertz (2-20hertz is the same frequency of human brain waves). These harmonic waveforms resonate in a similar frequency to that of the Sanskirt Om.
The tones of the didgeridoo effect the person or group on three primary levels. The first is the most physical and occurs through the production of natural ultrasound waves. Ultrasound used in medical practices has proven to aid in the relief of muscle spasm/knots, muscular/joint pain, and stimulation of bone growth in fractures and breaks. However, when using a focused source of medical ultrasound equipment, care must be taken to ensure that a patient does not receive a tissue-damaging overdose. The benefit of didgeridoo-based ultra sound comes from its being a broad natural source and produces no threat of tissue damage.
The second way the didgeridoo effects a person is on an energetic level. Quantum physicists have theorized that the smallest particles in our bodies are not actually particles, but instead are sound-like waveforms that hold the larger particles and atoms together. These waveforms appear to have a resonant frequency similar to that of an Om (from the Sanskrit). One could draw a direct correlation between the universal tones of Om and our own energetic beings. By bathing our bodies in a cleansing universal tone we can realign and balance our energetic bodies, opening us up to a greater potential for healing and personal growth.
The third way the didgeridoo helps a person is to re-engage them into their own healing processes. Sound is one of humanity's greatest healing sources for realigning, restoring, and revitalizing your body. This only becomes effective though when we acknowledge and allow it to aid us in practices like meditation. Meditation is the most effective tool we have in directly reconnecting our mind with our body. This in turn empowers a person to make healing a conscious practice. The didgeridoo is one of the most effective meditation inducing instruments on the planet. Through intent and inner peace we can heal anything that comes our way.
In today's world, a never-ending chorus of unnatural, manmade sounds and vibrations surrounds us. When surrounded by the ancient sounds of the didgeridoo, your personal space becomes a clear and quiet moment whose sound is as old as humanity itself.
The most fundamental thing to remember when receiving any form of holistic therapy is that the recipient of care is the true healer. The power provided by this form of sound therapy lies in its ability to connect a person with his or her own healing potential. Release of traumas whether physical or emotional can transform a person's life and produce profound healing results. Ancient Voice Harmonic Therapy has been used to help people optimize their healing, with a broad range of illnesses: Chronic Fatigue, Fibromialgia, Stress, Anxiety, Insomnia, Muscular Pain, Headaches, Migraines, and Bone Traumas, to name a few.

A Testimonial to the effects of Didgeridoo Harmonic Therapy
Donna Laird, fellow traveler on Peruvian Shamanic Retreat 2005
Two weeks before my adventurous trip to Peru, I fell while running to the car for my camera. Already feeling panicked by the fact a boyfriend had unexpectedly brought his two daughters to meet me for the first time, I slipped on the slick pavement and fell, bending back the fingers on my left hand as I tried to brace myself. My ring finger broke in the knuckle! Significant, I thought. The next day, my orthopedic surgeon put me in a cast and told me I would probably never have full mobility of that finger again.
During our travels in Peru, Joseph was riding on the bus seated behind me and suggested I put my hand in front of the Didgeridoo while he played. I felt the wonderful vibrations of the long notes pulse through my hand and broken finger. It tingled and really felt better. I thought maybe it was feeling nice to have some soothing attention.
Several times later on our journey, Joseph also volunteered to do some energy work with the didgeridoo on my finger. This time I could visually see the bruising beginning to disappear and it felt a lot better! Maybe there was something to this dig energy? Joseph told me that something was blocking the energy flow and I needed to release it before my finger could heal. So I concentrated as he played, the tears flowed as I thought of my late husband and the beautiful wedding band that used to grace that swollen finger. Yes, I did come to Peru to release that deep grief! Thank you Joseph for helping me on my journey.
When I arrived home, I went back to the orthopedic surgeon for a check up. He had the nurses take the X-ray two times over because he couldn't believe my finger had healed so quickly and completely! He took the cast off two weeks early and I have FULL mobility of that finger. YES, there is "something to this didge energy". I KNOW IT!
Thank you Joseph for all you are and all you do!
Lots of love, light and joy from the beach,
Donna
PS I LOVE the sounds of the didgeridoo too.
